Introducing our new Elderberry Flower! This beautiful new bar is another customer inspired request. We chose to add this sweet, fruity floral to our goat's milk base, and just look how amazing it turned out! So for all of you that understand the awesome benefits of the elderberry flower and fruit you will appreciate why this is so popular. Both the fruit and the flower of this plant have been used for boosting your immune system. I for one have been making my own elderberry syrup for about three years now and always try to keep it on hand. At the first sign that I am coming down with something this is what I use along with lots of vitamin C. Always does the trick. The same can be said for the elderberry flower. I love it as a tea, and when I make my tea I will also add a few berries as well and some local honey. Yum! Our new bar is made with a fragrance oil as it seems impossible to find an elderberry essential oil, but when you smell this bar it will definitely remind you of this sweet berry and it's flower. We tinted the bar with an orchid oxide, purple mica, cobalt mica and titanium dioxide for the white swirl throughout. What a perfect gift or treat for someone special. This bar will be available April 2nd 2022 on the website. We also will have a pairing with this bar of a bath soak that will include elderberry flowers, just in time for Mother's Day. Finally our new batch of Fresh & Clean will be available for purchase on our webstore April 2nd 2022. We do more of this popular bar than any other soap blend we carry! It sells out 3 to 4 weeks after we list it on the website. I love making it because it always comes together nicely and is just a wonderful bar of soap. This bar has been on our product list from day one. It isn't for everyone as this bar packs a punch, literally! This special blend includes the essential oils of peppermint, spearmint, lemon, thyme, rosemary, litsea cubeba and wintergreen, wow! We also include coconut activated charcoal, Pascalite clay (a form of bentonite clay), French green clay and menthol crystals. This time we have added our new favorite ingredient, grapefruit seed extract! This extract has been used as a natural disinfectant and we are adding it as a natural preservative for the essential oils. But maybe it just might help combat all those nasty viruses and bacteria we deal with on a day to day basis. I love to always carry a sliver of this bar in my purse just in case I visit a restroom without soap, I just use it once and throw it away! This bar is special because after waiting patiently we were able to utilize a beer created by our son-in-law. Our daughter and her husband have finally achieved their dream of opening up a brewery with their partners Dustin and Julie. Lake Pleasant Brewing Company is located in North Phoenix Arizona near the 101 and the 17. They officially opened the weekend of the Super Bowl and have been busy ever since! Our first bar using their beer was created with the Coffee Chocolate Stout. To compliment our choice we used the butters of cocoa, shea and coffee, then added an oil blend of predominately olive with a bit of coconut. The scent choice is a blend of the essential oil Cedarwood Atlas and a sandalwood/vanilla fragrance oil. Earthy with a bit of sweet! Our coloring was achieved by the natural deep, darkness of the beer and coconut activated charcoal for the black and titanium dioxide for the cream color. This amazing bar has a nice creamy, bubbly lather created by the mixture of butters and oils, and with sugars that naturally occur in the beer. Such a wonderful bar! Aloe & Alfalfa has been a constant here at Desert Blossom Soap. It was inspired by our love of the country life. We live in the middle of farmland and one of the staple crops for our area is alfalfa! Also everywhere you look here in Southern Arizona you will find aloe vera. Literally our desert landscaping always includes some of this amazing plant. So naturally we had to include both of these in a bar that was part of our Arizona Inspired line. We also include another Southern Arizona plant that a lot of you are familiar with, the jojoba plant. The oil from this wonderful plant is included along with the oils of coconut, palm, olive, sunflower and also shea butter. We grow our own aloe and use a non-gmo organic alfalfa in this bar. Our essential oil base is the change for this batch, normally we use patchouli, clary sage and bergamot. For this new reformulation we still added the patchouli and clary sage but chose pink grapefruit instead of bergamot for our citrus scent. You will definitely find many pink grapefruits grown here locally also. To anchor the scent and brighten the color we also added grapefruit seed extract. This additive has also been used as a natural disinfectant. Just perfect to add to our bars! Our other two Arizona inspired bars are the Arizona Blend and the Arizona Citrus. You can check these out under the "Soap" heading. Our next bar is the Spearmint, Lemon & Thyme. This bar is the one I love to use in my kitchen. It has a cool and herbal scent that just shouts to be there. This batch was created using the natural colorants of French green clay, Pascalite clay (a specific kind of bentonite clay) and spirulina. It turned out so beautiful! And look how perfect it is setting on this teal soap dish made by MA Designs! Couldn't be prettier! Yes, we finally have the most requested scent since we started this business! Our new Just Lavender bar is just that, a single essential oil that is just Bulgarian lavender. This bar, pictured below, has already become the favorite with customers. The oil base is 70% extra virgin olive oil along with organic coconut and organic non-gmo hexane-free castor oil. We beautifully colored this gem with oxide pigments, mica and white kaolin clay. Beautiful as it might be it is the scent that makes you go "ah". This bar has a preservative to help anchor that awesome lavender essential oil, it is grapefruit seed extract! Grapefruit seed extract has been used as a natural anti-bacterial and anti-viral agent. Like our Goat's Milk & Oatmeal and Buttermilk Baby this bar is a perfect one for the whole family to use. They are selling out fast but we will be making another batch in April and it will be ready in May. The next bar shown is our Country Rose Garden. Rose is such a special oil. It has been used forever to keep skin looking young. Our bar is paired with geranium which is also a skin loving essential oil. This bar is in the same goat's milk base as the Just Lavender and is colored naturally with French green clay, rose kaolin clay and mica. The look of this batch almost resembles a Victorian tapestry.
